Marking 70 Years: The Lincoln Rodeo Tradition Lives On

As this blog grows, you'll notice a common theme about Lincoln: its traditions. One of the longest-standing traditions is the Lincoln Rodeo. This year, they're celebrating the 70th annual rodeo at the Lincoln Riding Club Arena. And guess what? There's a lively street dance just before the rodeo on Wednesday night. You can enjoy some toe-tapping, line-dancing music right on the Lincoln Square.

Recently, they've added something special – a Kids Rodeo! Kids get to do fun events like the goat ribbon pull, barrel races, and pole challenges, all while riding stick horses. It's a must-see! There's something for everyone, and honestly, it's really cute to watch.

From barrel racing to bull riding, there's excitement for the whole family. I'm especially excited about Sophia Duch and her trick riding, The Regulators, and of course, the rodeo clown – everyone loves them! Don't forget to catch the Saturday parade and the crowning of the LRC Rodeo Royalty that night. It's like being starstruck!

This is one of the biggest events in Lincoln, and it takes a lot of effort from local, hardworking people and support from small businesses. When you're at the arena, take a look at all the signs from local businesses that help make this event possible. It's really impressive.

This year, they've made some improvements, like a new announcer's stand, updated restrooms, and a fresh entrance sign. The folks at the Lincoln Riding Club have put in a ton of work to keep the grounds looking great, and it really shows.
